Hi Everyone!

I’m Sally, the artist who lives in the old house. Born in Ohio, transplanted to the south for a few decades, I’m now back in the Midwest starting a new adventure in our 1908 home.

Having a creative outlet has always been important to me – I’ve crafted, painted, had some cross stitch designed published, designed labels & stationary, and did a stint designing websites for small businesses. I was even the advisor for a homeschool yearbook for several years, teaching teens layout and design concepts.

I do a lot of watercolor and graphite work these days. I have to say I love how watercolors can take on a life of their own. Seeing colors blend and do their own thing is fascinating and can lead to amazing results. But I’m always open to experiment and learn with different techniques or mediums. I’m currently learning pastels and oils.

I’m a member of the St. Louis Watercolor Society and the Publicity/Website Chair for Gateway East Artists Guild. In August 2023, I started working as the Art Co-ordinator at the Leu Civic Center in Mascoutah, IL teaching and running the art studio. I also teach monthly classes at Scott AFB Arts and Crafts Center.

I’ve shown work at Gateway to Art Show in 2022 and 23, winning the Director’s Award in 2022, at Soulard Gallery as well as Art St Louis, and was the featured artist for the Art & Wine Walk in 2022 and 2023 at Pour@322 Coffeehouse. Recently I received an award of excellence for a piece in the Square Food Art: Wonder show through GEAG.  Additionally, I’ve donated work to the Belleville Historical Society and Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Currently prints and select originals are available at Blanquart’s Rust Gem and originals at Green Root Gallery, both in Belleville, Il.

I’m so excited to share my love of watercolors with you all! Whether you’re looking for prints, commissions or originals, I’m glad you’re here!
